Mount Rainier Couples Session: Annie + Hunter
This session was a combination of perseverance and incredible luck! A little backstory:
The day before this session, I had a session out in Enumclaw. As I was leaving the location, I heard a huge metallic sound from the bottom of my car and looked in my rearview. I saw a giant wrench bouncing along. “Oh well!” I thought, “who cares if the under side of the car is dented??” About 2 miles later my tire pressure light came on, and $700 later I had a whole new set of tires on the Forester. The wrench that someone left in the street????? had put a giant gash in one of my tires that wasn’t patchable. Knowing snowy sessions were probably only a few weeks away, I had them put on the most rough and ready all terrain tires they had.
The next day, I headed up to Tipsoo Lake to do this session with Annie and Hunter near the Naches Peak Loop trail. The fall color was so incredible, I had to pull my car over a few times to get some shots of the red and orange leaves above the river. About halfway up the mountain, it started to snow. By the time I made it to the top, it was a full-on blizzard. We decided to roll with the elements and enjoy the snowglobe coming down around us! We ended up with these magical winter wonderland shots, even though it was only October! I never imagined needing the snow tires that soon, but if it wasn’t for that rogue wrench, my car and I would have slid right off the mountain!
