Thornewood Castle Handfasting Wedding: Lee, Melisande, & Jordan

In the enchanting setting of Thornewood Castle in Tacoma, spouses Lee and Jordan joyfully welcomed Melisande into their family. This historic venue, adorned with a 15th-century castle imported from England in 1910, provided a picturesque backdrop for this unique celebration.

Dressed in distinctive and vibrant suits—lavender, peach pink, and ruby red—Lee, Melisande, and Jordan radiated individuality and style. The trio, surrounded by their loved ones, captured precious moments in a photo session before exchanging heartfelt notes on a charming ornament tree.

Under the artistic direction of Elyse Gordon from Modern Aisles and with stunning florals by Blitz & Co, Thornewood Castle transformed into a medieval wonderland. The ceremony, featuring a handfasting ritual, united the spouses in the presence of their closest family and friends.

Adding a whimsical touch, Lee's sister, serving as the flower person, delighted everyone by tossing pride stickers instead of traditional flowers. Following the ceremony, the great hall was adorned with a feast reminiscent of medieval banquets, complete with fruits, moss, candles, and flowers.

Heartfelt speeches added a personal touch to the festivities, creating an atmosphere of warmth and love that brought many of us to tears (including me!). The celebration continued with a Scottish circle dance led by the family's friend, Kat. The evening ended with the trio dancing to their favorite songs and showtunes as the rain and wind blew outside.
