Tacoma Backyard Wedding: Kelsey + Michael

Once you see these photos, it’ll be hard to believe, but this wedding was held in Kelsey’s dad’s back yard in
Tacoma, Washington! Kelsey and Mike postponed their big wedding due to covid, but knew they needed to get married this year, and this backyard was the perfect place. The golden sun filtered in through the lush greenery, and for portraits, we went down to China Lake Park in Fircrest to stroll among the tall fir trees. Isn’t Kelsey’s dress incredible!? So simple and elegant, perfect for this day. They incorporated so many sweet elements, from recreating Kelsey’s mom’s bridal portrait, to the vintage WSU Cougars pennant they used in their decor. Their reception this fall is going to be a blast, but this was about as romantic of a ceremony as I could ever fathom. You can see the tears were flowing as they said their vows! My favorite moment was probably their first dance, secret in the front yard, away from the rest of the group. It was so intimate and romantic, I had to snap a couple shots from around the corner!
