Seattle Backyard Wedding: Katie + Noah

What better way to kick off June than with this colorful summer wedding?! Katie and Noah’s wedding was hosted in Katie’s mom’s backyard garden in Seattle on an overcast day last summer. Despite the gray skies, the bright decor and this couple’s sunny energy made this wedding one of the most joyful I’ve ever seen. This couple put so much thought into what they wanted their wedding to be, and the result is this amazing festival-meets-picnic vibe that their guests and I adored. After a quick energy cleanse, Katie got dressed in her gown and floral crown. Noah and his buddies had a toast on the deck that overlooks Lake Washington as the guests arrived. Katie had an emotional first look with her dad, and then it was time to walk down the aisle!

During their ceremony, Katie and Noah had several speakers, and even took a shot with their parents mid-wedding! The couple shared cupcakes on the lawn before dancing the night away with their guests. Some of my favorite elements from this wedding were the heirloom tomatoes in Katie’s mom’s vegetable garden, the groovy mid-century vibe of the home’s architecture, and the fluttering texture of Katie’s gown. I definitely took some notes for my own future wedding someday!
