The Farm on Van Wyck Wedding: McKenna + Ben

Sometimes I feel like I am constantly harping the idea: make your wedding YOURS. Make it all about YOU! etc etc. Well these two really took that message to heart and I am soooo proud of them and the amazing day they hosted. Ben and McKenna found themselves stuck in a very sticky situation in 2020. Covid was in full swing throughout Washington, so their event kept getting postponed and adjusted. Because of their family members’ health, they needed to make this wedding happen, Covid or not. McKenna ended up planning SIX different events in order to accommodate the guidelines in our state. Her perseverance was truly inspiring!

For Ben and McKenna, celebrating their Jewish heritage was one of the most important factors of the day. After their first look and shots with their wonderful bridal party, they made a grand entrance for their guests before their Ketubah ceremony. They said their vows from the table with gorgeous peacock chairs and lush greenery, and friends and family were able to make special speeches as well as they signed their names. There was not a dry eye to be had. Except maybe from their adorable golden retriever Ollie (scroll down to see him in a tux with a cocktail!) After the ketubah was signed, they did a ring ceremony under a beautifully decorated chuppah, and Ollie was the first to welcome them frolicking into married life. They cut the cake and shared coffee and appetizers with friends before heading into a night of celebration.

The Farm of Van Wyck might be my new favorite Bellingham venue after this day. The wooded area looks exactly like an enchanted forest, and the light filters through in the most magical way. There are rolling golden fields, the perfect backdrop to any ceremony, as well as a covered area perfect for open air dining. I can’t wait to get back here for another amazing Bellingham wedding!
